Serving at the Young People’s Weekend

(Click here for audio recording of June 2 fellowship on the burden.)

There are 3 levels of service: Full-time, Part-time, and helper.

We ask both Full-time and Part-time serving ones to…

  • Enter into a fresh burden for the gospel and for our young people
  • Attend at least one full day at Ft. Yargo, joining meetings and activities.
  • Attend important parent’s fellowship on June 2, 12:15 to 1:30 pm
  • Attend mandatory Teacher’s Training on June 6, 7:30 to 9:00 pm
  • Read chapter 1 of Teacher’s Training before June 6. (Chapters 2-4 also recommended.) See *below about getting the book.
  • Apply for a background check here

In addition to the above, we ask Full-time serving ones to…

  • Participate full-time all weekend at Ft. Yargo
  • Stay overnight Fri. and Sat. in the cabins with the young people
  • Travel with young people to and from Atlanta or Athens meeting hall to Ft. Yargo. In most cases this means you will drive your own car, and transport specific students not only to and from the conference, but to and from the cabins during the weekend. The park is very large and the facilities are spread out.
  • Pay the $100 registration fee.

The weekend many helpers will also be needed. We ask you to…

  • Come to Ft. Yargo for at least 3 hours on one day or more
  • Help in one practical area such as meals, recreation, transportation, registration, cleanup, etc.
  • Let us know your specific availability via the sign-up form

*If you do not have a copy of Teacher’s Training you can purchase a copy this weekend and it is also available online here.

If anyone is available to help with practical service before the conference, including registration, please let us know.
